When will I get my deposit back?

When you return your vehicle and there are no additional charges such as fuel, tolls, or others explained in the Terms & Conditions, Europcar will request the release of your deposit with the bank within 24 hours.

The time before you see the updated balance on your credit card will vary based on the issuing bank.

Most card issuers take 3-10 business days to process this request, also some holds, starting from the date of pick up, may last as long as thirty days. Please contact your bank if you are unsure if the amount has been released.

Note: You will not receive a notification from your bank or see this release as a transaction on your account. The deposit is a pre-authorization hold, no actual transaction is taking place - this means that you will no longer see a pending amount for authorization of the deposit on your credit card statement.
